The Good Shepherd Clubs were established by an experienced teacher who is also a parent. She understood the needs of working parents and sought to provide a convenient and timely wraparound childcare service, where she would be happy to send her own children. The clubs are designed to create a warm, safe, and child-centered environment where children can grow, develop and have fun!
Our clubs prioritise social and educational development in an enjoyable and exciting way, by providing stimulating and engaging activities for the children. Extended School is designed to help Parents and Carers balance work and family commitments, whilst providing children with study support, and offering them a broader range of experiences and interests.
Our Clubs are Ofsted Registered so you can be sure our care meets the highest standards, along with allowing parents to choose to pay with Childcare Vouchers, the Tax-Free Childcare Scheme, or the Childcare Grant Payment Service.
Aims and Objectives
At the Good Shepherd Clubs, we aim to provide a safe, secure and relaxed environment; offering a range of activities to reflect the interests of the children in our care and enhance their academic ability. We want parents to feel confident in our ability to take care of their children and intend to meet the following objectives:
To the Children – provide an environment that meets their needs, where they can be happy, have fun and feel safe. There is an emphasis on social and educational development, where children have the option to suggest activities that they enjoy.
To the Parents – provide a trustworthy service of great quality and flexibility. Parents know that their child is safe, happy, and being assisted with their social and educational development in a fun, relaxed and child-centered environment.
To the staff – provide sufficient training and support to ensure that all staff are able and equipped to deal with their job responsibilities. We provide a safe and secure place in which to work, where staff members feel comfortable and respected.
What We Offer:
Our Clubs follow the Playwork Principles, so the children are free to choose activities and resources as they wish. There will always be a selection of activities and resources available including: dressing up, arts and crafts, board games, physical play, cookery, and reading.
